Fang Areeratchakul is a Thai textile design student based in London and Bangkok and is currently studying BA textile design at Central Saint Martins. Fang has always been interested in what is already there for her to be visually and emotionally captured. The spatial awareness and colour interaction are what she explores throughout her practice.
Inspired by the beauty of the mundane, Fang usually works from collected visuals of unexpected moments from everyday life. Her design evolved around the atmosphere of domestic and mundane moments of the unsought. In early stage, to capture such atmospheric quality she incorporates the traditional drawing method to frame the impression towards the particular moment and space. Her textiles serve as a piece of tactile painting.
