Africa is a womenswear fashion designer born and raised in Spain, graduated from the University for the Creative Arts, Epsom. She is interested in looking into memories and preserving traditional crafts and colourful customs as part of cultural heritage, as well as moving them forward into the modern world.

Fluent in Spanish, English and French, she has always being interested in knowing other cultures and learning from them, so with her work she also wanted to share the pagan festivities and traditions of Spain with all communities, to open them up to embrace and experience “Otherness”, and welcome cultures and people from different origins.

Her design philosophy is a reflection of her research into sustainable practices, such as sourcing second-hand fabrics from the local areas, along with textile developments based on the reinterpretation and manipulation of ancient techniques such as crochet, weaving and fringing, bringing together the clash of vintage and modern.
