As a 2020 Textiles graduate specialising in woven constructions, Alexandra Smith works with colour to communicate future concepts.

Alex has used her time at Central Saint Martins to explore the aesthetics of sustainability and how this can be imbedded into fashion. Most recently, using her final year of studies at to rethink sourcing methods for a more conscious fashion industry.

Gathering inspiration and materials from the perimeters of London, the final collection was made entirely from local sources. Taking inspiration from the waste itself and the locations they came from, the sports accessories collection explores possibilities within circular processes.

Aiming to combine this knowledge of research and craft with her commercial awareness, Alex’s goal is to help brands develop more responsible processes. Revolutionising the way the fashion and textiles industry works.
