With a strong focus on the intersection between psychology and fashion, Alexia Cofino is a designer of both womenswear and menswear whose work transforms repressed emotions into sculptural garments.

Based in Paris and recently graduated from Istituto Marangoni, Alexia was selected among the top ten designers of her year to present her final collection during Paris Fashion Week as a recognition of her bold, experimental vision.

Her collection Scars of Somatization explores how the body expresses what the mind represses. Emotions silenced by fear, shame, or social pressure manifest physically through tension, rigidity, and distortion. Through textile manipulation, she gives form to this process: rigid structures reflect self-protection, asymmetry reveals rupture, and encapsulated, unspoken feelings are preserved as fragile testimonies within each piece.

Drawing on techniques such as fabric layering, felting, encapsulation, and sculptural draping, Alexia transforms textiles into visceral landscapes. Each garment becomes a second body an embodiment of scars, memories, and the body’s inevitable release.

Her design language is raw, poetic, and unapologetic, merging vulnerability with strength, and turning the invisible into a tangible, wearable truth.
