On the 26th of March 2018, Fashion Crossover London was honoured to be invited to attend the amfAR Gala charity event in Hong Kong as representative for the international emerging designer. For 35 years, amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, has been a pioneer in the development of Cancer Gene Therapy Strategy, which is the application of the first FDA-approved gene therapy treatment for fighting HIV infection. The annual amfAR Gala charity event has been a long established aristocratic function, with admission only made accessible to the most influential and affluent members of the society. This was the fourth year that the event has been held at Shaw Studios in Hong Kong, where the honorees included fashion designer and UNAIDS Ambassador Victoria Beckham, international actress and amfAR Ambassador Michelle Yeoh, and leading Hong Kong businesswoman and philanthropist Pansy Ho. Charlize Theron, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Gwyneth Paltrow, Adrien Brody, and Michelle Rodriguez are among the bold-faced names who have served as Event Chairs since the Gala’s inception.

Instead of following the general practice of going for top tier luxury designer brands for the Gala event, our Managing Director Since Wang, together with the French supermodel Claudia Carpentier rocked the red carpet by wearing unique young designer pieces from the Fashion Crossover London platform, and immediately caught the attention of international medias.

Claudia Carpentier, a young and bright model who is actively supporting and promoting international emerging talents, believes sustainability and individuality are the future of fashion. From last year's amfAR Milan to this year's amfAR HongKong, Claudia has always chosen designer pieces from the Fashion Crossover London platform to wear . As a result, her red carpet looks have always been featured on Vogue Italia, Harper Bazaar and many of the leading fashion media. On the gala red carpet of amfAR HongKong, Claudia was wearing the rainbow oil effect suit straight from New York Fashion Week, created by the Taiwanese designer Wang Li Ling from our platform. Claudia's look received very positive feedback from many guests and celebrities on the night, including Kwan Chi Lan, who directly asked Claudia for the designer’s contact details, after having invited Claudia and Since Wang to take a portrait together.
We sincerely thank James Byrnes for inviting us to be part of his guests on the night, alongside with two of the most popular UFC models from Los Angeles, Brittney Palmer and Arianny Celeste, both with over a million followers on Instagram. The talented Brittney Palmer, whose painting was auctioned in the evening for a stunning amount of $38,000 USD, with all proceeds going to the amfAR charity. Through the donations from various parties during the evening, a total amount of $2.7 million USD was raised for research and development purpose.
