Riverlines was inspired by the formation of Ox Bow Lakes and Meanders in Scottish rivers, creating twists and curves along landscapes. These flowing lines were painted onto some of the garments by hand. The collection was also heavily influenced by the climbing oil Scotland. This can be seen in the fastenings, rope detailing and accessories. The designer wanted to experiment with natural dyes and work with sustainable fabrics. In the design process samples were made using only natural dyes ranging from turmeric, avocado pip, coffee and spinach. White onion skins gave the best result and this is how the unique print and colour was achieved in the hooded jacket The majority of the fabric used was either recycled or made from natural biodegradable fibres creating a lesser environmental impact.
