Direct-to-textile 3D Printing - 3D Pattern mapping and unit modelling
The collection features innovative 3D-Printed textiles, designed through parametric pattern engineering using Rhino and Grasshopper. The use of visual programming tools transformed my design methodology through algorithmic repetitions, which allowed me to create complex, illusory patterns that add depth and movement to the fabric. Utilising direct-to-textile printing technology and integrating principles from maths and architecture, I bought these digital patterns to life, transforming flat textiles into dynamic surfaces that are unattainable through traditional fabric treatments.

Laser Cut -
Contnuing with parametric design, I transitioned from an additive process to a subtractive one, employing laser cutting techniques

Interactive Garment-
One of the key pieces in this collection is the interactive garment, which features built-in mechanical components and electronic devices. To embody the concept of superposition and the vcreation of reality through observation, I integrated smart textiles that bring narrative and vitality to the garment through real-time digital interaction. Using physical computing, I programmed dynamic expansion and contraction movements that respond to external stimuli, causing the dress to react to the observer’s presence. This approach exemplifies how the garment, much like a quantum particle, exists in multiple states until it interacts with an observer.

Interactive Animation -
To further extend the concept of superposition, I developed an interactive animation installation. Using visual programming and facial recognition, I created a projection that generates real-time illusory patterns. These patterns change based on the audience’s interaction, reinforcing the idea that reality (or in this case, the artwork) is shaped by the observer.

Experimental Fashion Film -
The narrative of superposition is explored through an experimental fashion film. This film combines the elements of interactive animation and wearable technology, showcasing how the garments and installations work together to redefine the concept of superposition. The film serves as a dynamic, audiovisual representation of the collection’s core ideas.
