With a background in fashion textiles, Cassie is amongst the first graduates in MA Biodesign at Central Saint Martins. Her work draws on inspiration from her Chinese/Irish background and she utilises a combination of crafting techniques from embroidery, embossing to 3D printing and Rhino to produce innovative textiles.
Her work seeks to interrogate the systems currently at play in the fashion industry and questions our relationships to the materials that surround us. She sets out to answer, how can we build closer connections to our natural world through the clothes we wear?
Using systems thinking, regenerative agriculture, localism, waste streams and biology she creates unique collections of materials for the fashion industry.
