Charlotte’s collection California Dreamin was inspired by the beautifully accessible Salvation Mountain which is based in California where people from all around the world go to worship anything and everything they wish to. Charlotte created this collection using her own strong handdrawn prints with cultured silhouettes. She also gained a massive LOVE for embroidery design inspired by converting everyone to see the world in the way others do.

Developing her collection was what Charlotte enjoyed most being able to develop her own hand drawn unique prints which was about expressing her feelings and creating volume throughout the collection. Charlotte created her own material from reversible sequins where she was able to print on two sides of the fabric creating a pastel side and more bold bright range. The collection involved showing the rang of colour starting from light and growing in brightness throughout. She also included oversized large hats which were all also printed and created by herself.

The collection California Dreamin has a strong theme of Love throughout and difficult and technical pattern cutting throughout. The collection comes alive by finding that loneliness which is 'murdering your innocent mind when nobody else understands' the collection takes inspiration from Charlotte’s other collections through stories of being afraid, hiding emotions, imagination and childhood depression. Charlotte wanted the end result to be something that people can touch and feel, seeing these emotions come to light in the garments. Using her own expressions Charlotte created unimaginable colours and statement silhouettes.
