Claire Tagg uses detailed print work in an illustrative style based on narrative to design her pieces. Her inspiration derives from travel and photography but mainly from her previous occupation as an air stewardess.

Claire created remarkable illustrations by drawing in a mixed media style in different scales to create motifs. She would then use Photoshop to allow her to digitally print onto her garments through a mixture of digital and screen printing. This was to show how she perceived herself as an air stewardess; looking elegant whilst wearing an airline uniform with pride.
The illustrations are combined with destructive textures to represent how her dream was torn apart when she experienced the harsh reality of this difficult job.

The cut of her collection explores the airline uniform that she once admired, using structured jackets inspired by pilots jackets, combined with softer fabrics used on couture style dresses. Claire designed an airline half jacket, which was similar to the one she wore as a stewardess, however, it has been deconstructed to create a half jacket.

Claire used a variety of fabrics, ranging from silk to cotton to create her collection. By combining structured and soft fabrics in a neutral colour palette she creates elegant shapes that are further enhanced through elaborate detailing by embellishing and embroidering sequins and beads into mesh fabrics.
