Courtney Durka is a London based jewellery designer and maker, who recently graduated from Central Saint Martins BA Jewellery Design.

Whilst studying for her BA in Jewellery Design, her passion for exploring worth and desirability increased, fuelling her to develop this idea into her final collection. Her interest in fine jewellery, has led her to explore themes of value within the jewellery industry for her final collection.

When looking into the sustainability of the gold mining industry, she became aware of the strain that the processes can create on the environment and endeavoured to use existing materials in her work, as a more sustainable way of producing pieces with less impact on the environment.

The desire to be more sustainable within her work has inspired her to use existing and recycled materials, such as the undervalued two pence coins, giving them a new purpose.
