Elena Kurginyan graduated from Central Saint Martin with a BA in Jewellery Design in 2016. Having been inspired by people and memories from a variety of locations, Elena has tried to replicate the physical gesture and spiritual connection between people into her jewellery design.

Elena recognises the importance of the body language, as she spent time examining how it forms an important part of our verbal communication. Having experimented with a wide array of material, she ends up focusing on the use of metal; as it can be moulded into various dynamic and smooth shapes, yet remain hard and indestructible.

Her jewellery design is both sculptural as well as interactive. To Elena, jewellery is an art form that can adopt many concepts, meanings and situations. It is a medium to reflect on different areas and carry any message that a person wants: from one that is private and personal to one that holds a political and social statement.
