Evelina Tănasie’s graduate collection ‘Ego sum qui sum’ was influenced by elements from Schopenhauer’s philosophies, illustrations by Viramontes, Thierry Mugler’s silhouettes and the mysterious Grace Jones. The aesthetics are from the 80s, she used bold cuts and textures, light-capturing fabrics and metallic details..
She used fabrics like faux leather, velvet, taffeta, faux fur, sequins, latex, she played with the textures, creating the epic drama queen look.
The creative process was based a lot on the unique color combinatins, so the chromatics are bold and dramatic, at the same time. Along with colors, volumes, cuts and textures, it sums up a unitary and courageous collection. This is Evelina’s final collection line up. Due to the corona virus pandemic, Evelina managed to create five looks from her collection. The fabrics were quite difficult to sew, but the whole process was very interesting. She wanted to express through her final illustrations drama, mystery and inner uneasiness.
