Frances Spry specialises in sustainable menswear with military themes. She is a Fashion (BA) graduate from the University for the Creative Arts, Epsom.

She has a deep-rooted devotion to the importance of clothing and how garment production can be approached in a more sustainable manner. Wearability, functionality and uniqueness are key themes in Frances’s work and she aims to design garments that consumers will love and keep for years to come.

Frances often draws inspiration from vintage pieces and military garments to create a utilitarian-cool aesthetic. Her strengths lie in fabric and colour combinations; being able to mix old and surplus fabrics along with new, often high-tech, fabrics, whilst showcasing both effectively. Historical and cultural research allows her to do this proficiently and this is something which she is dedicated to. Her hardworking nature and attention to detail has been encouraged by her military career, alongside work experience with serving military tailors.

The outcome of her recent eight outfit collection has been a showcase of all she has learnt whilst studying fashion design. She has been able to implement her skills in historical and cultural research with her knowledge of garment sustainability.
