My name is John Paul Thomas, a designer from Dallas, Tx and I'm currently pursuing my Master’s in Finance, at the University of Dallas. I’ve attended Wade College, where I obtained my Associate Degree in Fashion Design and my Bachelors in Merchandise & Design. Upon graduation, I chose to pursue my career as a menswear designer, while at the same time choosing to continue my journey through school, as I pursue my master’s degree. Although this journey hasn’t been easy, I’m learning how balance life as a father of 2 kids, pursue my dreams as a designer, maintain good grades in school, and still must work a job, so I can have benefits for my family.

I started my label Fly Forever in 2018, and I'm currently selling online, which you can check out at www.fly-forever.com. I've also been very selective on the stores I've chose to partner with, since I know I'm currently working on a small budget and can’t mass produce at this time. Even though I passed up the opportunity to move to California and pursue my career out there, I turned down the opportunity to stay in Texas, because I couldn’t see myself having a long-distance relationship with my kids, especially being so young, my daughter Naomi is 6 and son Jacob is 8.

I decided to stay Although the decision wasn’t easy, I felt like I made the best decision for my kids and follow through with my dreams as a designer in Texas. I am currently creating most of my pieces in my 1600 sq. ft. design studio, that I opened back in June of last year. This space I can create samples, have an area for photoshoots, a design room and focus on online sales.
As an emerging designer, I look forward to having my first fashion show during NYFW, to showcase my fall/winter leather collection I been working on. I want to continue to stay exclusive as I grow my business, and the price range of my designs range from $190 for a shirt, to $475 for a hoodie, just to give you a better understanding of my target market and the type of customer I'm looking to reach. Overall, this is a brief description of my journey as an entrepreneurial.
