Katie was inspired during lockdown by recreating her childhood ballet dances in her living room, and taking inspiration from the objects around her.
Her message is to show that we are so wrapped up in our everyday lines, we forget what we have in our homes and the stories behind each item. Lockdown has taught her that you can gain so much inspiration from everyday objects in your homes, which we normally forget about and end up walking past.
Her inspiration branched from her favourite childhood hobby ballet. Her concept is sparked around movement and her favourite childhood hobby, ballet. She has danced since the age of three, taking part in shows and exams. In lockdown she decided to recreate and film these dances in her living room, and take inspiration from the background of the videos and her own surroundings. We are so wrapped up in our everyday lives that we forget what we have in our homes. You can gain so much inspiration from everyday objects which we normally walk past and forget about.
She has taken ordinary objects like lampshades and curtains, found in the background of her living room, and decided to make them the core of her project. Her project shows even the most basic of things can make the most impact.
