With a key focus on COMMUNITY, Kazna Asker MA collection challenges stereotypes associated with the Muslim youth and directly interacts with her local community in Sheffield. Combining tracksuits and Islamic clothing, Kazna was the first hijabi collection to showcase at the Ma Central Saint Martin’s show at London Fashion Week, featuring her friends modelling from her community.

Her collection combines her Yemeni heritage with her British upbringing, featuring a range of tracksuits, technical fabrics and sportswear details with traditional Islamic garments such as the Jilbab, Abaya and Thobe. Alongside featuring posters and answers from her local community, the collection includes traditional fabrics from Middle Eastern carpets and furniture, the revolutionary Keffiyeh scarf and jewellery from Yemen and local markets. Using themes of rebellion and community, Kazna’s collection challenges the stereotypes of the Muslim community by emphasising the significance of brother and sisterhood.
