The class of 2017 Fashion MA took over the the world's leading contemporary Design Museum in the heart of Kensington to launch their new collections on Thursday 19th October. The Fashion Crossover Team were honoured to have been personally invited to the showcase by Anna Paolillo, Kingston University’s Placements Officer.
A selection of 10 fashion designers featuring from an array of international backgrounds including China, Japan, Korea, Brazil and Africa showed how Kingston did not disappoint.
Showcasing their work at one of the country's great cultural institutions was an excellent opportunity and an exceptional creative platform for their most senior fashion class to shine.
A range of special guests including Hilary Alexander OBE, Caryn Franklin MBE and British Fashion Professor of Diversity in Fashion and the Creative Director of Fashion Scout, Martyn Roberts came to see the MA students who showed a dramatic and diverse array of skills and techniques, with womenswear filled with remarkable heritage, unique identities and an ethos of craft and professionalism.
Overall, Kingston University were a suitable reminder of how fashion has advanced in the past few years and gave us a sensational vision into what we can envisage to see in the future.
We are always trying to discover and promote the best, emerging designers who have something new and exciting to offer through our Graduate Talent Programme, as we believe and understand that they are the future of fashion.
Thanks to our Graduate Talent Programme we have scouted eight Kingston Graduates including Ningyao Zhang, whose pieces were featured on British Vogue at London Fashion Week and Odella Yue whose pieces were featured on Paris Fashion Week through us.
