Kritika Manchanda was born in India and grew up travelling across different parts of the country. She relocated to NYC to study design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Drawing from a profoundly rich and diverse culture, her work showcases the use of craftsmanship that is hundreds of years old. She hopes to restore value in the term ‘Made in India’ which was once synonymous
with fine craftsmanship and skill. Her process as an artist involves curating historical objects and reinterpreting, re-contextualising and reimagining them. The wearer is taken on a journey through space and time as the garments serve as the vehicle for conceptual historical curation.
