Laura obtained a degree in BA Textile Design and graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2022 and has since been developing her brand, creating bespoke garments for clients and pursuing collaborative projects. Laura Specialised in knit and took a womenswear and 3D approach. Heavily inpsired by the 1960s Counterculture Movement, her work constantly reflects back to this aesthetic. Her projects throughout her time at university were deeply personal, highlighting her experience with mental illness. ‘Deeper into Wonderland’ is an extension of a previous project ‘Welcome to wonderland’. It is an exploration into her life with Bipolar II and the juxtaposition between hypomania and depression.

The series of knitted garments and fabric samples display the feelings of euphoria contrasting with depression whilst also representing what happens when these episodes clash. She drew further inpiration from her own spirituality , superstitions and comfort mechanisms. Crystals can be used to help aid physical and mental wellbeing, something which she uses ritualistically to her aid. The project showcased her healing journey both mentally and spiritually.
