Lucia Ingels is a De Montfort graduate whose interests lie in combining texture and shape to create reworked versions of classic knitting techniques, as well as complex, maths-based pattern cutting. She takes inspiration for each project from things close to home; childhood aspirations, psychology, history is seen in a modern context and her family’s scattered heritage are common themes.

EUNOIA is Lucia’s BA collection, which focuses on the therapeutic uses of textiles and the influence that colour and texture can have on mental wellbeing. She experimented with novel pattern cutting techniques as well as vastly different scales of knit and types of yarn; from alpaca and viscose to nettle fibre and reflective glass. These elements came together to create delicately coloured, collapsed geometric shapes that aim to positively influence mental wellbeing through Deep Pressure Touch Stimulation, Haptics and colour theory.
