Marta Frittelloni is a recently graduated womenswear designer from London College of fashion. As a fashion designer, she decided to embrace the concept behind the craft and hand-made garments. Growing up in a big Italian family, one of her favourite memory from her childhood is her grand-ma realising embroidery on her corredo ( blankets and towels for my life after the wedding ) and for her that is the biggest expression of her love. Indeed, with her gesture and her care, she infused a piece of her soul on that piece of fabric, changing the values behind it forever.
She truly believes that, as a designer, her job is to infuse a piece of the soul into every single garment that she realeases. She must take care of every single part of the process: from the fabric research to the details. The focus is to create unique pieces, with a transparent production and with a zero-waste impact
The full collection is realised entirely with natural material ( silk and leather) and natural dye. The felting technique, the resin and the flower were selected to eliminate any plastic or chemical component from the process. In addition to that, the entire collection is produced using the Zero+one technique to reduce 0 the fabric waist during the process. This technique allowed us to reuse the entire amount of fabric ( think of an origami approach to pattern cutting).
My goal for this collection was to be able to celebrate the craftsmanship and the handmade part from Italian heritage and to transmit the importance to love our body enhancing the shape and the fluidity creating a collection studied for every body shape.
