Mary Grace De Vera, a recent graduate of Central Saint Martins and based in London, is a multi-disciplinary designer, specialising in woven textiles. Having completed a diagnostic Foundation Diploma in Art & Design in 2018, her passion for designing and creating textiles developed.

With an eye for colour, texture, pattern and intricate attention to detail within her research and design developments evident through drawings, collaging, mark-makings, photography and abstracting, she combines these contrasting elements to produce thoughtful and sophisticated outcomes.

Mary Grace De Vera’s final collection draws inspiration from a personal aspect of analysing, observing and documenting a collection of her mothers’ accumulated belongings as well as her own keepsake of childhood objects relating to material memories of which are instrumental to our past and stimulates remembering.

Through these objects she reminisces - recalling and associating people, time and environments with feelings of nostalgia, security and comfort to create a series of delicate and ethereal woven fabrics alongside complimentary beaded and hand-knitted pieces to be situated within luxury Spring/Summer ready-to-wear womenswear.
