Minjae Chang’s collection was heavily inspired by problematic social issues around the world such as immigration. She was always interested in immigrants who live in countries as foreigners and preserve their own heritage in a mixed cultural background. Therefore, she translated Korean traditional costume into silhouettes and mixed them up to create a new contemporary style.

During the process of her collections, Minjae developed her casual street-wear range by merging different fabrics such as checked and tiled fabrics with stripe pattern, using vivid colourful fabrics.  For this collection, she also made her own graphic printing design patterns for the innerwear. Each look offers additional characteristics. Minjae also developed the embroidery typo patch to express her concept and also give more casual- contemporary style collection. Inspired by silhouettes of traditional Korean costumes, adding a futuristic feeling in her designs she aimed to remove the boundary between contemporary and traditional wear.

One of her silhouettes features a nylon fabric outer with interior check pattern, making garment reversible. For this she used a mixture of fabric mix-match applique made from a leftover sports jersey garments for upcycling. Minjae tries to use casual and practical fabrics in her collections. For this collection particularly, she also designed jewellery pieces such as a broach, metal sculptures, hanger-shaped objects, shoes and headpieces.
