The collection 'Two Spirits' has been strongly influenced by the topic of gender.The main inspiration has risen from transgender Native American and 19th century cross-dressing women that strongly questioned gender norms in that age and had major impact redefining gender perspectives. Inspiration came from various periods and cultural backgrounds such as American Natives Two Spirit is a culturally distinct gender that describes Indigenous North Americans who fulfils one of many mixed gender roles found traditionally among many Native Americans. Also late 80’s transgender life experiences facing social acceptance within LGBT community.





Monika played with textures, shapes and garment structures in order to create balance between masculine and feminine looks. The collection translates sophisticated minimal and modern feel, that has been interpreted within oversized tailored shapes, knit and various fabric combinations. For the particular reason of gender inequality, collection was originally created genderless.





Monika was mainly focusing on shapes and various high- end fabric qualities. Bell shaped boiled wool coat, oversized and double layered pleated shirts and chunky knits flows throw out collection creating warm and balanced collection. Collection has white, burgundy red and grey shades to represent two sides of gender fluidity in each of us.
