The School of Design at Northumbria University was founded in 1965 and since then has established an outstanding reputation for its award-winning partnerships and world leading research.
Its fashion course emphasises the importance of gaining a strong commercial understanding alongside gaining a wealth of industry techniques with modules focused on contextual fashion studies, digital and traditional production methods and garment constructions. Providing creative, technical and foundational knowledge has catapulted its graduates into the hands of internationally renowned design houses such as Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Chloe, and Nike.
Led by industry experts, the fashion course has left a reputable mark in the fashion world with students bringing in 40 awards from 2010-2015 alone thanks to their esteemed placement programs. Affiliate partners include Alexander McQueen, Barbour, Tom Cody and Dunhill, who play a nurturing role by providing Northumbria students with hands-on industry experience in their area of specialisation.

Boasting one of the largest fashion institutions in the United Kingdom, the University of Creative Arts offers a large range of disciplines including design, cut and production of garments, fashion marketing and fashion journalism. With its all-encompassing resources, its pronounced faculty and state-of-the-art equipment bolsters creativity and imagination. Students are encouraged to showcase the range of skills taught by the university through national competitions such as Graduate Fashion Week, a valuable industry experience.
