BIID FW20/21 is a capsule collection primarily inspired by the rare mental illness Apotemnophilia, also know as Body Integrity Identity Disorder. Patients suffering from the condition perceive their body in an abnormal manner, causing them to have the physical desire to amputate a healthy limb in order to attain their perfect version of their own body.
The collection epitomises a dysmorphia - it manipulates volume and classic structure in their distortion while maintaining a dissent between the textures. Physically, Peter wanted to portray a shifting of the natural body lines and anatomy. There is a melancholy and subtlety within the contours and colours, which he developed based on the idea of time. He wanted to focus on creating timeless Art, disregarding the aggressive Trents and commercialism that prevail our zeitgeist, ultimately selling a concept.
