The inspiration of free shapes came from the combination of my life that I used to have back in Thailand and the life I have now in the UK. I would say that my love of free shapes came from the modern buildings in the UK and the nature in Isan, my home region in Thailand. This takes me back to when I was 10 years old, before moving to the UK I lived close to the mountains away from the city, this allowed me to appreciate the organic shape of nature. The way I express my love of free shape is how I’ve adapted to two different worlds, bringing them together to create my own shapes that are unique to me. To not forget the people I have left behind I wear black to mourn for my Family and myself.

Draping with metal ring and soft jersey to create textures and details, the contrasting of the softness of the jersey and harshness of the metal ring work amazing well together. I love to drape fabric. For example, silk my nan sent over from Thailand. I draped it across a mannequin to see what shapes I could get from it.

Inspired by my extreme change in surroundings, for my graduate collection, i decided to explore the stark differences between her two lives through the concept of free shapes. ‘In the UK, everything is more architectural and straight,’ , ‘My collection is about bringing back the organic shapes of my life in Thailand. I’ve brought the silhouettes from these two worlds together and created new, free shapes which are unique to me.’

My design process is all about finding a different way of wearing clothes on your body. If I design a jacket, it doesn’t have to be a jacket. It can be a different garment depending on how you want to wear it.
