Plaire was born in Thailand and spent many formative years there until moving to the UK in her early teens. She feels comfortable with the culture of both countries, seeing herself as a cultural hybrid influenced by the rich heritage and history of her birth country, but also attracted to the advanced technology of the UK and London.

She feels this dual cultural background does not limit her outlook in her design process but enables her to see and appreciate a diversity of ideas and influences.

She takes much of my inspiration from the rich culture of my birth country, she often uses her Thai heritage as the main research and creatively interpret it into contemporary fashion. She often work with unconventional materials to achieve unconventional looking textiles surfaces.

She see herself as a younger generation designer who is still passionate about fine handicraft, traditional textiles and techniques which are disappearing as the technology advances in this fluid digital world.
