17th February 2017

We started off London Fashion Week in style as we headed down to the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre to check out Roberta Einer's new AW17 collection. The designer has a resumé that will have you inundated with jealousy as she's worked with huge names such as McQueen and Balmain, and her spirited designs have been featured in the likes of Vogue, Elle and i-D magazine.

Once arriving at the venue we wandered down the enchanting spiral staircase, down to the basement where Einer successfully managed to take us away from the gloomy, grey weather captivating London and transported us to a fiery Mediterranean floral wonderland. Her models posed over beach loungers, tennis courts and vibrant bright colours enhanced the warm, playful element to her new collection.

Teaming up with Swarovski again, the designs feature delicately crafted crystals embroidered into silks, allowing each piece to show off a high amount of intricate detailing that gave us goose bumps.

Einer explores luxury maximalism to its fullest potential within her designs. Her angular forties cuts are further augmented through her collaboration with Aeyde by embellishing pieces with beaded moth and dragonfly motifs that permits a layer of 3-D fabric manipulation to enrich her pieces.

She may be new to the fashion week roster but after creating a collection like this, she is without a doubt a designer to be reckoned with.

Keep your eyes peeled on our events page for more exciting, emerging designers that you’re going to want to know about.
