Glistening glamour, elaborate ornamentation and superlative shades are what we absolutely adore about Roberta Einer’s creative aesthetic, and her SS18 presentation at the old Central Saint Martin’s building, where the designer graduated, did not disappoint.

Einer allowed us to escape rainy London by taking us to a tropical utopia filled of palm trees and ice-cream sandwich snacks. Think California beaches, skaters, surfers and your typical LA girl as that is what Roberta Einer’s SS18 collection colourfully characterised.

The collection itself was a decade blend of the 70s, 80s and 90s, with a pop of glitz, glow and glimmer that oozed edge, youthfulness and purpose. Roberta’s rambunctious splash of coloured prints, sequins and beads communicated both caliber and cool.

Short skirts whose hemlines were enhanced through beaded motifs and graffiti doodles. Similarly to her predominantly known ample bomber jackets, full of conflicting fabrics, in the forms of tartans, leathers and beads.

The Estonian-born designer also joined forces with Vans and Swarovski this season to create impeccable skater shoes, which were an expert addition to a lavishly sporty collection. The white high-tops were the perfect blank canvas for Einer to play with. Embellishing them with tasteful stitching, colours and beading, the shoe harmonised skilfully with the collection.

It's safe to say that Roberta Einer’s SS18 collection left us California dreaming on a cold September day.
