Sauda Imam is a highly accomplished artist and designer. She graduated with first-class honours from Central Saint Martins and holds a Masters in Textile Design from the Royal College of Arts. Her expertise lies in printmaking and handwoven textiles, showcasing her specialised skills across various disciplines.

Imam's multidisciplinary approach is evident in her thought-provoking works, particularly during her MA Textiles course at the Royal College of Arts. Her graduate project 'Saudade: The Love That Remains,' is a poignant exploration inspired by her grandmother's migration journey. This collection reflects Imam's ability to weave emotional narratives into her designs, creating a powerful connection between her art and personal experiences.

Similarly, Imam’s undergraduate project 'Afropolitan Trousseau' represents a deep dive into the fusion of cultures culminating in the creation of her unique African identity. Through her exploration of the historical evolution of Nigerian weddings and bridal trousseaus, Imam presents a contemporary collection of bridal-wear fabrics that beautifully illustrates the modern Arewa (Northern Nigerian) woman's role as a guardian of traditions.

Imam’s bold, rich style of storytelling is a testament to her commitment to preserving and evolving cultural traditions. As an expert in her field, Imam continues to make significant contributions to the world of textile design, bringing her perspective and skills to the forefront of the industry.
