Shixiu Liu defines herself as a textiles designer and sets her work somewhere between function and concept.

During the time when she was studying her MA in Royal College of Art in London, Shixiu Liu had always been focused on how relationships between body and self, as well as the texture of emotions and memories.

In Shixiu’s professional career, she still wants to use knitting as an expressive medium. She has more conceptual ideas to explore- fragility, power, texture and the body shape. She loves the legibility of fabric and the sensation of the silhouette, creating delicate fabrics with emotions and shaping garments for the body.
