This collection, titled ‘Vision of Animals’ is inspired by her curiosity of the realities beyond human perceptions, which are confined to the functions of human organs and the resolution of our senses. By researching and analyzing the properties of animals’ visual systems, she modelled what key visual elements would look like through the eyes of bird, snake and fly.
She used the layering technique to realize infrared thermal vision, red ultraviolet rays and compound eyes in the development of garments. Through a series of transformation of augmented visual elements into textiles and silhouettes based on each species’ vision, the collection visualizes the alternative realities that human eyes can’t normally experience through fashion design.
This collection is one of her many explorations of a new visual language in fashion using digital innovation.
