Metamorphosis is based on Goethe’s botanical studies in the book The Metamorphosis of Plants. In terms of Goethe’s contributions to literature, the project associates the poem, (The Metamorphosis of Plants) with a design methodology associated with and identified as 'Poetic Fashion'.

The design methodology employs subjectivity and objectivity in research to create the “Primal Plant” resulting in the silhouettes, in particular the cape. The romance of the subject is portrayed through the use of lace in menswear tailoring techniques. The poetic romanticism is further explored in collaborations of hats by Katherine Elizabeth Millinery.

The project aims to challenge a level of gendered clothes beyond the boundaries of masculinity in poetic, romantic, and graceful menswear.
