Yoté (Yo-Teh) is a handcrafted jewellery brand grounded in history, symbolism, and deeply personal storytelling. Created by New Mexican artist Leah Prada, the work centers intention over trend, offering pieces for those who value culture, meaning, and self-definition. The brand was born from Leah Prada’s desire to reclaim her narrative, her identity, her heritage and her connection to place. Each piece reflects the layered nature of lived experience, honouring both complexity and origin while encouraging the wearer to carry their story forward with purpose.

A lifelong artist, Leah Prada uses jewelry as a medium to explore identity, belonging, and historical memory. Influenced by the rich and multifaceted cultural landscape of the American Southwest, her work draws from its folklore and intertwined histories. As a citizen of the Genízaro Nation, she reinterprets the term “Coyoté” once used during colonial times to label mixed heritage into a self-defined symbol of resilience, depth, and individuality.

Yoté jewelry operates as a language of meaning and presence. Each design acts as an amulet, layered with symbolism and narrative that extends beyond decoration. The motifs are inspired by stories that cross time and cultures, linking personal identity to broader human experience. Through archetypal forms, memory, and transformation, the pieces invite reflection, connection, and self-recognition.

More than adornment, each creation is a talisman, an embodiment of story, myth, and tradition. Yoté represents what can be thought of as “tangible folklore,” where history, symbolism, and narrative take physical form. These ideas shape every piece, encouraging wearers to embrace their multifaceted identities and lived experiences, transforming them into something visible, meaningful, and shared.
