With deep interest in sustainability, Youngju Lee is recently graduated Footwear designer based in South Korea, performing a talent of design using bold colours.

Until the summer of 2019, Youngju was majoring Footwear design at London College of Fashion, she has been always interested in the sustainability and animal welfare, and have been trying to apply the practice to design.

Her collections continue to pursue sustainable way, with unconventional, bold designs and colours.The way of design creates non-harmful beauty using plastic recycling and leather substitutes.

Using key themes from Memphis design movement, Youngju explored various different techniques such as painting, digital printing, recycling of plastics; let the plastic bottle lids to have a new life as the heel of the shoes. Her collection also used marbling, constructing and colour to explore unexpected beauty, uniqueness and boldness of the way of design.
