With a keen eye for sustainable development and traditional culture, Yujie Zhou (Carline) is a recently graded womenswear designer based in Kingston.

Until the summer of 2020, when Carline was pursuing her MA in fashion at Kingston University, she have always focused on how to contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development.

Her collections constantly explore ways to incorporating a sustainable element, with this particular collection done through choose recyclable materials and fabrics and environmentally friendly digital printing technology.

Using key themes from the Chinese and Western porcelain, Carline explored various different techniques such as print, textile, reconstruction and draw; giving the garments a new lease of life. Her collection also used recycle fabric, silhouette and colour matching to explore independent, power, sweet and romantic feelings.
