An appreciation of complexity and imperfection creating the approach to design pieces which follow this aesthetic. To be able to join your inner flaws and flow of thoughts and acceptance of your complete true self.

So often we have stories to tell. Whether they are visible or concealed, expression can be different. Through music, through art, through paper and ink, through textiles, through threads. It’s what you make of it.

After graduating from Istituto Marangoni London as one of the top designers of her year, Bahraini Designer Zahra Ahmed Husain debuted her graduate collection at London Fashion Week in 2022. The top ten awarded collection entitled “The Thread of Fate” stimulus was an ancient Japanese legend which explores the chaotic life journey of two predestined lovers linked togther by an invisible red string. That string being the metaphor for a love that while tangled and knotted, is never broken.

Implementing these aspects from the story of these fated lovers into her design process, Zahra creates pieces which reflect these elements of knots and tangles. As a Designer with a passion for manipulating and creating her own textiles and whose signature is to leave loose threads in her pieces, these influences fuse to the creation of an adrogynous assemblage of pieces.
