Aliveena Darr is a soon to be Fashion graduate from Birmingham City University. Her design style comes from her birth place East London mixed with her East Asian Pakistani background. She likes to use oversize and flamboyant shapes to create modest but fashion forward clothing. This comes from her aim to make the modest fashion industry one that is empowering for women.
All her concepts are derived from personal and meaningful sources of inspiration holding significant importance. She uses her love of fashion to project important messages whether political or social. This project in particular gave a small insight on the discrimination some disable people may face by being a voice for her younger brother showing his love for drawing.
Her main techniques, involves using fun prints and textile fabric manipulation processes to create her own fabrics embodying uniqueness which she feels is important quality to have within today’s fashion market. Aliveena strives to use bold bright colour schemes to further display her personality whilst making a statement.
