Amineh Ahmad currently resides in Detroit and holds a BFA in Fashion Accessories Design from the College for Creative Studies. Her interest in fashion accessories design resulted from specific cultural and religious obligations within her heritage that women were required to follow in order to maintain their modesty. Within her senior thesis collection, Arabesque, Ahmad sought to explore the meaning of modesty for Arab-American women today with hope to empower women so that their stories may be heard.
Ahmad was drawn to exploring the hidden identities of these women because of Arab women are often depicted as powerless and inferior to their male counterparts. Amineh hopes that her generation can work together to transform today into an empowering tomorrow by challenging gender stereotypes and contributing to social change.
