Untethered from classical curb chainwork, Brooklyn's collection explores the physical construct of chains, drawing attention to the gaps between the links. Presenting these negative spaces by copying, deconstructing and reassembling, he has discovered ways to produce chains that reveal a new visual aesthetic to the wearer. He crafts pieces that, through touch and feel, show their hidden forms, creating an original sense of manoeuvrability, an alternative way of thinking about chains. By highlighting absent spaces that usually go unrecognised, he creates unique structures, offering unfamiliarity within something so intimate.
