As a textile designer that specialises in knit, Elin primarily uses techniques that traditionally link with this. Additionally, her pieces consist of off machine techniques that allow her to create layering within my work.
Whilst studying her BA in Textile Design at Central Saint Martins, Elin’s work would focus on the use of culture and people throughout her projects. From growing up in North Wales surrounded by rich Celtic culture, embedding a story and her culture within her textiles is key.
Her most recent project focused on the Grief she experienced after the sudden death of her father. She aimed to create textiles that encourages us as a society to feel comfortable to approach the complex topic through encouraging the conversation. The use of colour and tufting allowed Elin to translate the emotions she experienced this then allowed her to embed her emotions within her fabrics.
