Holly Shepley is a 2020 Fashion BA (Hons) graduate from Northumbria University where she specialised in pattern cutting for womenswear, as well as personally specialising in embroidery and embellishment. Whilst at Northumbria she undertook a range of internships including a couture embroidery studio, a costume design team and a sustainable womenswear brand.

Her graduate collection was inspired by goddesses of Norse mythology, creating moody statement pieces for a modern witch with singer and artist FKA twigs as a muse. She often weaves symbolism and mythology into her work through construction and decorative details including intricate embroidery and beading.

Holly also makes one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces using a range of upcycled, recycled and bought materials. This approach to sustainability was reflected in her graduate collection where upcycled and deadstock materials were used as often as possible, making many of the collection pieces completely unique.

Currently Holly plans to expand her jewellery business, branching out into embroidery art and illustration as well as continuing to make one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces. She also plans to undertake freelance embroidery work and custom design projects that promote craftsmanship and slow fashion. She is investigating ways to turn her graduate collection into spin-off garments and accessories to sell.
