Joyce Chong is a womenswear and menswear designer based in Aberdeen, Scotland. Whilst pursuing her BA in Fashion Design at Heriot-Watt University, Galashiels Joyce had developed an interest in psycho textiles in her final year. The combination of Psychology, textiles and technology fascinates her. She believes that it is a new target market in the near future.

She has always been aware of sustainability whether that in fashion or towards the environment. Over the years this has developed further, she also engaged with the health and safety environments of garment workers. An equal pay and sufficient treatment is priority. It is important to her that we know where each garment comes from, what fabric is used and that we appreciate who makes the clothes.

Her graduate collection ‘Inseperable’ is based on the necessities that a child needs when they are growing up. As she is interested in psychology she wanted to challenge herself and perform a type of feeling and thought process in her clothing which can speak for itself. She wants to create garments that are beneficial to the wearer and at the same time better for the environment. There should be purpose to why we create.
