Kun Qian is a Fashion and Textile designer of Chinese background based in London and graduate from Central Saint Martins. In some ways, her Chinese culture gives her a solid background as it is easy to find a strong oriental style in her collection. Her colour and print skills are deeply inspired by her Chinese ink painting background. As such, the whole collection looks like a fresh, elegant ink painting. Her main design focus is on the environment and the communication between animals and human beings. She feels motivated and inspired by the idea that with the choices she makes in her life, personal and professional she can have an impact.

Her technique focuses on embroidery, prints and different kinds of mix media surface designs. Her plan is to combine these aspects, embroidery and the environment, through working with found recycled materials to create luxury looking fashion pieces.

With her final collection, she aimed to build a magic garden in her dream house which has a washbasin which could grow plants, a bathing beauty enjoying the bathing time with her swans and a lamp giving her bathroom a beautiful light. She presented her concept of a garden home to stave off toxic, bustling city life. This is a very romantic inspiration from her life in the public gardens in London.
