Linyun Yu with cross-pollination of eastern and western culture is a womenswear designer based in China and London.
She graduated from Fashion College in China and now continues to pursuit her MA in Fashion Design in Royal College of Art. Linyun had always been focused on bio design collaborating with the areas like education, exhibition and information experience, such as non-governmental organizations, museums, galleries and magazines.
Nowadays, her interest falls on things happening in real life, areas involving sociology and psychology. Her collection “LEAN” described the phenomenon of grudgingly grouping together in social interaction: conformity. In the imperceptibility of collective and discipline, people slowly lost themselves. She created artificial fur by millions of same hairs, making the colour gradually changed, corresponding to member’s progressively self-lost and also making a textile with horse hair reflecting group’s exclusion: knotted inside, but unfixed sharp ends spread in all directions.
