With a strong interest in fabric manipulation and embelishment, Mafalda usually incorporates these techniques in her designs. The passion for intricate details started at a young age when she traveled with her parents and saw how different cultures approached their crafts and used their hands to produce beautiful objects, accessories and garments.

This particular project explores the beautiful shapes found in nature and how those can be translated into delicate garments and textures. Combining simple shapes with voluminous drapes.

“Desert Decadence” is a luxury collection, inspired by Christophe Josse and the calmness developed by connecting with nature. Merging patchwork with techniques such as pleating and smocking, the collection has a feminine silhouette with a modern edge.

Mafalda draws her inspiration from her travels, having experienced multiple cultures and ways of making a living together with her own experience of living in a country with different traditions than her own. Growing up by the ocean, Mafalda is also heavily inspired by the natural elements that surround her life.
