Focusing on colour and lively print and pattern, Mya’s aim in her creations is to bring a sense of fun to her clothing as a womenswear designer.

Studying in Birmingham City allowed her to experiment and learn different ways to embellish and enhance fabrics, using those techniques to play with a staple fashion print - the cheetah/leopard print - for her final collection.

Mya takes inspiration from subjects that have potential for colour stories to shine through in projects; from famous artists, such as Yayoi Kusama and Gustav Klimt, to more unique sources, like old school skateboard art and park graffiti. Designs are kept simple in silhouette to allow the surface art to be seen, explored and admired both up close and from afar.
