The inspiration of free shapes came from the combination of Pin Mirin’s life that she used to have back in Thailand and the life she has now in the UK. Pin would say that her love of free shapes came from the modern buildings in the UK and the nature in Isan, home region in Thailand. This takes back to when she was 10 years old, before moving to the UK Pin lived close to the mountains away from the city, this allowed her to appreciate the organic shape of nature. The way she expresses love of free shape is how she has adapted to two different worlds, bringing them together to create own shapes that are unique. To not forget the people Pin has left behind she wears black to mourn for her family.
Pin Mirin’s design process is all about finding a different way of wearing clothes on your body. If Pin designs a jacket, it doesn’t have to be a jacket. It can be a different garment depending on how you want to wear it.
